SMS Messaging & Opt-In

Last updated: August 2026

Greetable SMS / text messaging program

Greetable sends text messages on behalf of the restaurants that use it. This page explains the program and exactly how you opt in, so it is clear what you are agreeing to.

How you opt in (your consent)

You opt in by giving your mobile number to the restaurant while placing an order or making a reservation through Greetable — in the website chat, over the phone, or by text — or by texting the restaurant's number first. At the point you provide your number, you are told you will receive transactional texts about that order or reservation, and providing your number is your consent to receive them. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of any purchase.

What we send

Transactional, customer-care messages only: order confirmations, reservation confirmations, order-status and receipt updates, and replies to a message you send us. We do not send marketing or promotional texts.

Message frequency & cost

Message frequency varies (for example, per order or reservation). Message and data rates may apply.

Opting out & help

Reply STOP at any time to opt out / unsubscribe — you will receive a one-time confirmation and no further messages. Reply HELP for help, or contact us at our contact page.

Your mobile information is never shared for marketing

Your mobile phone number and your SMS opt-in consent are never shared, sold, or rented to any third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. We share your number only with our messaging provider (such as Twilio) solely to deliver these messages. See our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service for full details.

Carriers

Carriers and mobile operators are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Website chat opt-in

In the chat on a restaurant's website, while placing an order or making a reservation you type and submit your own mobile number. Beneath the chat input the widget shows this disclosure, and submitting your number is your affirmative opt-in — there is no pre-checked box:

"By sharing your phone number, you agree to receive order & reservation texts from this restaurant via Greetable. Msg & data rates may apply; frequency varies. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help."

Phone / verbal opt-in

When you give your mobile number on a phone call, before any text is sent our AI host speaks this consent disclosure and proceeds only after you answer "yes" (the restaurant's name is spoken in place of "[Restaurant]"):

"Before I send you anything: by giving your number you'll get order and reservation text confirmations from [Restaurant] via Greetable. Message and data rates may apply, message frequency varies, and you can reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help anytime. Is it okay to text this number, yes or no?"

Your spoken "yes" is the affirmative opt-in; no number is texted without it. The call's date, time, and dialogue are retained as the consent record.

Text-initiated opt-in

If you text the restaurant's number first (the number is published on the restaurant's own website and Google Business Profile listing), your inbound text is the affirmative action, and the first reply you receive is this disclosure (the restaurant's name is inserted in place of "[Restaurant]"):

"[Restaurant] via Greetable: By texting us you'll receive order & reservation confirmations from this restaurant. Msg & data rates may apply; frequency varies. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help. Terms: greetable.ai/messaging Privacy: greetable.ai/privacy"
